ControlNet Adapters for 1746 I/O

The new 1747-ACN15 and 1747-ACNR15 (SLC ACN) ControlNet™ I/O adapters bring the features and performance of ControlNet phase 1.5 to 1746 I/O. These adapter modules provide the capability for up to three 1746 chassis (30 slots) of discrete, analog and specialty I/O modules to produce/consume scheduled I/O to a ControlNet network. SLC ACN adapter modules have been designed to provide both scheduled and unscheduled ControlNet network connections for 1746 I/O. SLC ACN adapter modules are connected to the ControlNet network via standard BNC connectors (redundant connection available in the 1747-ACNR). The modules are powered from and communicate with I/O modules over the SLC chassis back plane. The SLC ACN adapter communicates with ControlNet controllers (e.g. PLC-5C, 1747-SCNR, 1784-KTCS, etc.) via the network. The two new adapters are configured on the ControlNet network with RSNetworx release 2.0.

1747-ACN & 1747-ACNR Features:

  • 4 digit/7-segment display for node address and module status

  • Node address set via rotary switches (in decimal)

  • No DIP switches needed for module configuration

  • Optional media redundancy (dual BNC connectors) available with ACNR

  • Compatible with all 1746 discrete, analog, and specialty modules except modules
    requiring G file configuration, e.g. 1747-SN

  • Capable of communicating with up to 3 chassis (30 slots) of 1746 I/O per node

  • Supports multiple connections to individual modules or rack connections to a group of discrete modules.

  • Software upgradable via Flash

  • Up to 64 connections per adapter are possible with 255 words (max) per connection

  • Supports ControlNet scheduled and unscheduled messaging

  • UL/CUL/CE/Class 1, Division 2 certified
