The
new 1747-ACN15 and 1747-ACNR15 (SLC ACN) ControlNet™
I/O adapters bring the features and performance of ControlNet
phase 1.5 to 1746 I/O. These adapter
modules provide the capability for up to three 1746 chassis
(30 slots) of discrete, analog and specialty I/O modules to produce/consume
scheduled I/O to a ControlNet network. SLC ACN
adapter modules have been designed to provide both scheduled
and unscheduled ControlNet network connections for 1746
I/O. SLC ACN adapter modules are connected
to the ControlNet network via standard BNC
connectors (redundant connection available
in the 1747-ACNR). The modules are powered from and communicate
with I/O modules over the SLC chassis back plane. The
SLC ACN adapter communicates with ControlNet controllers (e.g.
PLC-5C, 1747-SCNR, 1784-KTCS, etc.) via the network. SLC
ACN modules are FLASH upgradable allowing the module to be
easily upgraded to the latest functionality via software. The
two new adapters are configured on the ControlNet network with
RSNetworx release 2.0.
